Meera
Narenthiran, B.Sc., D.Ch.,CDE
Chiropodist
Meera graduated from the University
of Toronto in 1991 with a specialist
degree in Human Physiology and a major
in Biology and Physics. Here, she
received a scholarship to work with
a science team researching possible
treatments for diabetes. She graduated
as a chiropodist from The Michener
Institute in 1995 specializing in
surgery. She is also a certified diabetes
educator.
Meera
has been a full time faculty
member at The Michener Institute
for over seven years where
she has been
involved in teaching pathophysiology,
biomechanics, sports medicine,
and clinical internship of
the chiropody
program. She has gained a wide range
of experience practicing as a chiropodist
in various health care setting
such as the Diabetes Care Centre at
the
Credit Valley Hospital, Central
Toronto Community Health Centres,
and private
practice and treating a wide
range of foot problems including diabetic
foot care and biomechanical
abnormalities.
She
has served as a member
of
the board of directors
at
the Canadian Federation
of
Podiatric Medicine. Over
the years, she has also
served
at the College of Chiropodists
of Ontario in various capacities.
Currently she is a selected
member of the council at
the
College of chiropodist
and
sits as a professional
member
on the quality assurance
and discipline committees.
She
is also practice assessor
for the College.
On
her spare time Meera enjoys
family time with her husband
and family and loves to
travel.
