Malak Yassa, B.Sc.,
P.T.
Registered Physiotherapist
Malak is a graduate of Queen’s
University, obtaining her Bachelor
of Science in Physiotherapy in 2001.
She
was awarded The Rehabilitation Science
Merit Award for academic excellence
in the physiotherapy program. She is
an
active member of the Canadian and the
Ontario Physiotherapy Associations.
Malak has over eight years of experience
treating patients with various neurological,
musculoskeletal and rheumatologic conditions.
She also has experience treating paediatric
conditions including torticollis. In
the past, Malak had successfully run
the Osteoporosis and Fibromyalgia Clinics
at St. Joseph Health Centre in Toronto.
As a registered physiotherapist, Malak
uses a variety of techniques in her treatment
including: joint mobilization, traction,
myofascial releases, Active Release Therapy,
acupuncture, individualized therapeutic
exercise program, physical modalities
(including ultrasound, laser and interferential
current) and patient education.
Malak aims to integrate clinical
expertise with evidence-based research
to relieve pain, restore function and
movement, and prevent further problems.
Away from her practice, Malak enjoys
spending time with her husband and children.
